Sharp Corporation plans to make east China's Shanghai Municipality its washing machine production and export center, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Sharp will take advantage of the low costs in Shanghai to enhance the price competitiveness of its products.
It plans to transfer most of its models to the plant in Shanghai, excluding some high-grade models. (XIC, Asia Pulse)
