Maytag's new regional distribution center is getting ready for business.
The warehouse, located in North Liberty, IA, U.S., is about the size of 16 football fields and will soon be full of refrigerators, washers, dryers, and other appliances.
The Newton, IA, U.S.-based appliance maker marked the completion of the building this week, about a month ahead of schedule.
Spokesman Jim Starkweather says the company will supply dealers in 13 U.S. states as well as some international customers from the distribution center. He estimates 150 truckloads a day moving in and out of the building.
The warehouse is said to be the largest built-to-suit project in the history of the Maytag. It is expected to create more than 60 jobs. (Associated Press)
