ARI Launches Unitary Ductless Equipment Product Section Dec 1, 2004

The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) formed a new product section to represent unitary ductless equipment with the approval by ARI's board of directors.

"This is an exciting opportunity to bring together manufacturers of ductless equipment to ensure that approved standards are maintained and that a dialogue among industry leaders is established," Henry Hwong, ARI's director of Product Sections, said.

Equipment covered by the new product section is ductless-split air-conditioner and heat pump systems with cooling and heating capacities for outdoor units from 5,000 BTUH to 300,000 BTUH and indoor units from 5,000 BTUH to 60,000 BTUH.

Thomas White, chairman of the new section from Carrier, said ARI has established a high reputation in setting industry standards. "The commitment from companies joining the newly established ARI product section further demonstrates those commitments," he said.
