Samsung Corporation announced that it will use IDM software from Questra in its digital home offering known as Samsung homevita. The new solution is now undergoing a large-scale pilot deployment in Seoul, South Korea.
According to the companies, Samsung's homevita networks home appliances, entertainment systems, building management systems, and digital communications services, connecting the devices so that they can offer greater benefits as a system. Questra's IDM software will help manage and support the networks by keeping track of the operational status of the home network system.
Questra software automatically notifies the service provider when it detects a problem with the system. A diagnostic capability built on Questra will enable remote troubleshooting so that corrective measures can be identified and deployed with minimum time and cost.
"Questra's IDM solution will help deliver this product by enabling the customer support for the system in the only way that is cost effective. That is, through intelligent monitoring and one-time delivery of the problem resolution," said Hisup Park, vice president of DSC System Solutions Group, Samsung Electronics.
