Kitchen appliance maker Dacor announced two high level promotions. George Simadiris was promoted to vice president of Engineering, and David J. Jordan was promoted to senior director of Quality Assurance (QA).
In his new position, Mr. Simadiris will focus on research and development, design engineering, and sustaining engineering. Mr. Simadiris joined Dacor in May 2003 as director of Refrigeration Engineering and was later promoted to assistant vice president. Prior to joining Dacor, he served in executive positions in engineering and management with a number of leading companies during his 20-year career.
Mr. Simadiris holds a bachelor’s of science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri, a master’s of science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State, and an MBA in marketing from Indiana University.
In his new position, Mr. Jordan will deploy a wide range of quality disciplines. Reporting directly to Tony Zavala, senior vice president, Mr. Jordan will also have responsibility for the Technical Service Department, working closely with its management to develop a global view of quality throughout the company.
Mr. Jordan joined Dacor as director of Product Test Engineering in August 2003. He holds a bachelor’s of science in Mechanical and Material Science Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, is a licensed professional engineer, and is on the National Board of Directors and West Coast Board of Directors for the American Society of Gas Engineers.
