Skyworth Digital TV Sales Up
Hong Kong Skyworth Digital Holdings Ltd. said it sold 3.7 million televisions in the 6 months ended Sept. 30, 2004, up 12.5 percent on year.
Skyworth, which ranks among China's top five TV makers, sold 2.73 million televisions in China in the period, a 15.2-percent increase compared with the same period last year. Overseas television sales grew 5.6 percent to 967,000 units.
In September alone, the company sold a total of 898,000 units, up 21 percent on year, of which 667,000 were sold in the home market and 231,000 abroad.
Skyworth's sales of audiovisual products, including digital set-top boxes and asymmetric digital subscriber line products, rose 47 percent on year in September to 134,000. For the 6- month period, AV sales fell 8.5 percent to 610,000 units. (Dow Jones)
