Wal-Mart stuck to its original sales projections and said it still anticipates a 2- to 4-percent increase in October sales at its stores open at least a year.

The Bentonville, AR, U.S.-based retailer said in a recording detailing its sales outlook for the four-week period ending Oct. 29 that sales will probably be up in October. The absence of Halloween from the October period this year will be negligible, affecting sales by less than one percent, the company said.
