Lowe's Receives State Loan for New Plant

Home-improvement retailer Lowe's Cos. Inc. will receive a U.S. $500,000 state loan to help fund construction of a manufacturing facility In Janesville, WI, U.S., the state's governor announced.

Lowe's opened a millwork plant in an existing 210,000-square-foot building, manufacturing doors for retail sale. The retailer is said to be investing $7.5 million over the next five years in the construction and expansion project.

Lowe's was awarded the low-interest loan from the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. Lowe's is set to open its first stores in Wisconsin sometime in 2005. (The Milwaukee Business Journal)
