LG Group is said to driving ahead with plans to further advance into the Indian market, according to the Chosun Ilbo. Expansion plans call for LG Electronics to increase the number of researchers at its software institute and LG CNS to establish a local corporate, both in India.
LG Chairman Bon-moo Koo reportedly will visit the group’s local office and hold strategic meetings to discuss plans to penetrate the Indian market with other company top executives, including LG Electronics Vice Chariman Kim Ssang-soo and LG India Office President Kim Kwang-ro.
Mr. Koo is part of an economic delegation that will accompany South Korea President Roh Moo-hyun on an official visit to India.
After LG CNS establishes its newest local corporate in November, the group will have four affiliates and five local corporates in India, said to be the most of any Korean company in the region.
LG Electronics said it will increase the number of researchers at its software institute in Banagalore, India from the current 350 to 500 by the end of the year. (The Chosun Ilbo)
