John Murphy, president of J.E. Murphy ClimateCare (Lasalle, Ontario, Canada) was appointed chair of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute (HRAI) of Canada for a second term at the Association’s 36th Annual Meeting, held in Kelowna, British Columbia on Aug 19-21, 2004.
Mr. Murphy was appointed to serve a second term because of the resignation of incoming chair Rick Renouf of Sinclair Supply shortly before the association’s annual meeting. Mr. Murphy has served on the HRAI Board for 3 years as a representative of the Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAC) and served as HRAC Chair from 2001-2003.
In addition to Mr. Murphy's appointment as chair, HRAI also named the following 2004-2005 board of director members during the Annual Meeting:
Bill Vale of Lennox Inc. (Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada) was named past chair; Mike Burns of The CFM Majestic Products Company (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) was named vice chair; Nancy McKeraghan of Canco ClimateCare (Newmarket, Ontario, Canada) was named secretary-treasurer and chair – HRAC; Mark Boncardo of Ineos Fluor Canada Inc. (Concord, Ontario, Canada) was named chair – Manufacturers Division; Gerry Cellucci of Yorkland Controls (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) was named vice chair – CHRAW; Pierre Martin of Prokontrol (Laval, Quebec, Canada) was named chair – CHRAW; and Warren Heeley was named president of HRAI.
Established in 1968, HRAI is a trade association of manufacturers, wholesalers, and contractors in the Canadian HVACR industry. HRAI has three industry sector Divisions -- HRAI Manufacturers Division; Canadian Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Wholesalers (CHRAW), and Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAC).
