The International Appliance Technical Conference (IATC) announced that Giuseppe Cavalli, director of the Laundry Business Unit for Italian appliance maker Merloni Elettrodomestici, S.p.A., will be the keynote speaker at the 2005 conference, to be held March 28-30 in Rosemont, IL, U.S.
Mr. Cavalli will discuss Merloni and its present position in global markets and how the company's roots and strategic strengths in Italy lent impetus to its growth throughout Europe and other countries of the world. Further, he will talk about Merloni's strengths in engineering, manufacturing, and marketing and how these make the company a leading contender in the worldwide appliance industry. Since Merloni now markets appliances in the U.S. under its Ariston Brand, Mr. Cavalli will talk about the company's future plans for its appliances in the market and how the company's strengths assure its growth and success.
Dr. Kenneth David, professor, Michigan State University, Lansing, will also address the conference, discussing the trend in the U.S. to move operations offshore and how this will impact U.S. industry and world economies, and especially the engineering profession in years to come.
In addition to the presentations, the 56th annual IATC will feature technical presentations, as well as an exhibition featuring approximately 60 suppliers. Each year between 275 and 350 people from throughout the world attend the conference and exhibition.
