Philips Announces PerfectDraft(R) Appliance Aug 25, 2004

Royal Philips Electronics and brewing company Interbrew announced the development of the PerfectDraft(R) appliance.

The system combines a refrigerated unit and various beer brands in light metal kegs to deliver draught beer to consumers in their homes.

PerfectDraf features a real tap handle, internal cooling system, pump, and 6-L light metal keg and keeps beer at a constant temperature of 3° C. Once installed, the company says beer stays fresh for 4 weeks.

The new product is first being launched in Belgium and will gradually be rolled out in other countries. The recommended retail price for the appliance will be 199.99 euros (approx. U.S. $242).
