Electrolux Professional announced the establishment of a Miami, FL, U.S. headquarters to house the North American division of its global business, including Latin America and the Caribbean.

A manufacturer of professional foodservice equipment, Electrolux Professional says it has now set sights on the North American market for its next area of global expansion. The company brings European design and standards to this market with a focus on technical innovation, energy efficiency, food safety, and cost efficiency.

"We look forward to bringing our brand – known throughout the world as a leader in design, innovation and function for professional kitchen equipment – to the North American market," Dr. Detlef Münchow, president of Electrolux Professional, said in a statement.

Electrolux Professional will offer three lines in the North American market:

  • Electrolux -- This line offers equipment for storage, preparation cooking, and dishwashing and can be found in restaurants, hotels, schools, universities, hospitals, correctional facilities, catering facilities, etc.
  • Electrolux Dito -- This line includes ready-to-use food preparation equipment ranging from slicers and salad spinners to modular, plug-and-play cooking equipment designed to be used in front of customers. The equipment has applications in restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars, delis, and grocery stores.
  • Molteni -- This is a high-end cooking station for both the professional and consumer markets. Manufactured out of black cast-iron, brushed steel, shiny enamel, and polished brass, the Molteni stove is a hand-made. Each piece is said to be unique and takes into consideration the chef’s specifications. Molteni stoves can be found in four-star restaurants and high-end hotels and spas. There is also a selected group of residents who own Molteni stoves.

After debuting its capabilities at the 2003 National Restaurant Association show, Electrolux Professional NA began to lay the groundwork to begin operations in the North American market, including establishing a headquarters location, hiring staff, and strategically planning how to penetrate an already firmly established industry.

In addition to the Miami headquarters office, the company has other U.S. office locations in Rocklin, CA; Orlando, FL; Nashville, TN; and Marlton, NJ. Electrolux Professional NA currently employees 80 people, ranging from sales and marketing to management staff.
