Concord Camera Corp. announced the appointment of Donald D. Dawn, CPA, as senior vice president and CFO.
Mr. Dawn has more than 27 years of experience in finance and accounting. He is responsible for overseeing Concord's Worldwide Accounting and Finance Organization, reporting directly to Ira B. Lampert, Concord's chairman and CEO.
Mr. Dawn comes to Concord from the Jet Aviation Group, an U.S. $800-million, international business aviation services organization with more than 3,000 employees and seven lines of business. From 2000-2004, he was Worldwide Chief Financial Officer, where he was responsible for all areas of finance and accounting, and served as a member of its Group Management Committee. During his tenure, Mr. Dawn implemented a variety of programs that reduced costs, increased operating efficiency, mitigated financial and operational risk and improved the transparency of results.
From 1977-2000, Mr. Dawn held positions of increasing authority at KPMG LLP, where he served numerous public and private companies across a broad range of industries. He was promoted to Partner-in-Charge of the West Palm Beach, FL, U.S. office in 1992, was named an SEC Reviewing Partner in 1996, and served as professional practice partner for the firm's South Florida Business Unit in 1999. Each of these leadership positions requires a deep understanding of technical accounting, disclosure and risk management.
Mr. Dawn succeeds Richard M. Finkbeiner, who held these positions since July 2002. Mr. Finkbeiner's tenure with the company ended on July 27, 2004.
