Conair Corp., a manufacturer of home and personal care appliances, announced that it will develop a 389,316-sq-ft distribution center employing 30 to 50 workers in Southhaven, M.S., U.S.
The company says the facility will be inside the boundaries of a Foreign Trade Zone, an area established by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that is not regulated by U.S. Customs and is not subject to custom fees.
Officials said the property will be developed by Hillwood, a real estate firm created by former presidential candidate H. Ross Perot. The firm will build the facility then sell the building back to Conair.
The facility is scheduled to open for business in January 2005. (The Clarion-Ledger)
