Sales of household electronic products in Indonesia rose by a range of 21.7 percent to 52.1 percent year-on-year in the first half of this year.
A spokesman of the Electronic Marketing Club (EMC) Handoko Setiono attributed the surge in sales to the rupiah's stability prior to May and a growing supply of cheap products from China.
Data at EMC showed that sales of color TV sets rose to 1.96 million units in the first 6 months of this year from 1.41 million units in the same period last year, an increase of 39 percent.
Sales of refrigerators rose 21.7 percent to 772,500 units in the same period, and the highest increase was recorded in the sale of air-conditioners, up 52.1 percent to 333,700 units. (ANTARA)
