Maytag and UAW Officials Reach Tentative Labor Agreement Jul 1, 2004

Maytag and United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) Local 997 jointly announced that they have reached a tentative agreement on a new 4-year labor contract covering production and maintenance employees at Maytag's manufacturing facilities in Newton, IA, U.S.

Maytag said the new agreement is subject to a ratification vote by union membership, which will be scheduled by UAW Local 997. The appliance maker said no details of the tentative agreement will be released at this time.
