BSH Expands U.S. Presence with Plant Additions May 1, 2004

BSH Home Appliances Corp. has officially dedicated two new-build additions to its North American manufacturing capabilities. Known by its Bosch, Thermador, Siemens, and Gaggenau brands in the U.S., BSH just completed a U.S. $200-million, 400,000-sq-ft expansion at its New Bern, NC, U.S. facility, where it has been manufacturing dishwashers and some cooking appliances. With the addition of two new factories, the New Bern plant now manufactures a line of freestanding ranges, plus an all-new line of washers and dryers. BSH¹s growth at the New Bern facility has meant the addition of at least 300 jobs during the past year for a current total of 750 employees. The expansion is expected to add 1,000 jobs in total.
