Techni-Brew International (Portland, OR, U.S.), a division of Boyd Coffee Company, has introduced the next-generation version of its Reneka(R) 1, 2, 3 Spresso(R) machine. The new model, the Tempo 1,2,3 Spresso machine is now available to restaurants and hospitality operators throughout North America.
The original Reneka 1, 2, 3, Spresso machine, known for its patented vertical brewing system, uses individually vacuum-packed pods. The next generation version features the same brewing system in addition to new software improvements and physical upgrades.
Additional new features include a keypad disable feature that is said to ensure correct pod loading and activation, automated cleaning process with patented cleaning ticket and tablet, and a new interface, featuring IR technology, which allows each machine to be tailored to individual locations. Each is equipped with a user-level, re-settable counter that allows usage to be tracked.
In addition to technological changes, the new espresso maker also has some physical component changes from its predecessor. Some of these changes include the keyboard featuring chrome buttons; a keyboard embellisher, which houses the keyboard, and the upper and lower front panels having been adjusted for easier service access; and the spent pod tray and chute being made of clear transparent plastic to allow for visual inspection.
The new generation Tempo 1, 2, 3 Spresso machine is priced at U.S. $4,500 for a one-group machine and $5,700 for a two-group machine.
