The Coalition for Clean Air (CCA) honored outdoor power equipment maker American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Alpharetta, GA, U.S.) for its corporate leadership in developing, promoting, and marketing environmentally responsible low-emission power equipment.

Honda was an honoree during CCA's annual awards luncheon held in Los Angeles, CA, U.S.

CCA, which advocates restoring clean, healthful air to the U.S. state of California, said that in addition to developing and manufacturing low emission equipment, Honda has distinguished itself by making environmental protection part of its marketing message.

Honda's technological and environmental leadership includes the introduction of cleaner and more fuel-efficient overhead valve four-stroke engine technology ahead of many others in the industry. Honda also recently introduced what it claims is the first viable lightweight and clean-running four-stroke alternative to two-stroke engines for hand-held applications like string trimmers.

"We are honored that CCA acknowledges Honda's commitment to designing and building equipment that is not only premium in quality, but exemplary of our desire to be company that society wants to exist," said Wade Terry, Honda Power Equipment vice president. "Honda recognizes that it has an ongoing responsibility and commitment to environmentally responsible engine technology."
