Device-Works Enters Mobile Technology Marketplace May 20, 2004

A new company, Device-Works, has entered into the mobile technology marketplace. Based in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, the new consumer electronics firm was founded by former Microsoft executives Bryan Mistele and Craig Chapman. Seth Eisner, former senior vice president and corporate director for Expedia.com, will be serving as vice president of Operations.

With more than 65 years of combined software and hardware development, general management, and business experience, the executives say they have identified a unique business opportunity that is just beginning to unfold.

"Digital technology is increasingly being unshackled from the desktop. With the rapid rate of adoption of mobile devices, wireless networks, streaming media, and more, consumers are experiencing unprecedented freedom to take digital information with them wherever they go," said Device-Works Founder and CEO, Bryan Mistele. "Capitalizing on this new trend and recent advances in technology opens up entirely new product categories and the demand for simple solutions to address real life needs."

Device-Works' strategy is to develop complete solutions that seamlessly integrate with PC and desktop software to address real-life mobility and connectivity needs. The company has plans to combine hardware, software, and services together in ways that "simplify life for mobile professionals and consumers." Device-Works currently has two products under development that they expect to introduce in 2005.
