DESA LLC, a manufacturer of zone heating, motion decorative lighting, motion security lighting, door chimes, electric lawn and gardening tools, fastening tools, and numerous other home comfort products, has acquired the assets of Scheu Manufacturing Company of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, U.S., effective May 12, 2004.
Scheu Manufacturing Company produces portable oil and gas-fired heaters for construction, patio, restaurant, and recreational uses under the All-Pro(TM) and Universal(TM) brand names. The new brands join DESA Heating Products' current brands, which include Vanguard(TM), Comfort Glow(TM), Outdoor Leisure(TM), Reddy Heater(TM), Master(TM), FMI(TM), and Glo-Warm(TM).
DESA said the acquisition provides a good fit for the company by enhancing its geographic strength and product availability. Historically, Scheu Manufacturing has maintained a very strong presence on the U.S. West Coast, while DESA says it is strong in the U.S. East and Midwest.
