Hewlett-Packard (HP) has unveiled what is says is the world's most powerful Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) scientific programmable calculator currently available—the HP 33s.

The HP 33s is HP's most advanced, programmable scientific calculator, packing 31 kilobytes of user memory in conjunction with the "HP Solve" application. The-pocket-sized unit weighs 119 g (approx. 4.2 oz).

It can be switched between HP's RPN input mode or the traditional algebraic mode. It also conforms to many new exam requirements that call for calculators without text or communications capabilities.

The HP 33s is reportedly the first RPN scientific calculator since the HP 32sII was launched in 1991.

The HP 33s was designed to appeal to engineers, surveyors, college students, scientists, and medical professionals.
