Sony of Canada Ltd. has announced that long-time Sony executive Doug Wilson has been appointed President & COO of the company, effective immediately.
Mr. Wilson will be responsible for Sony's overall performance in the Canadian marketplace, including meeting its fiscal, marketshare, brand, product and/or services quality and customer satisfaction objectives. He succeeds Hiro Sakai who, after 8 years as president & COO of Sony of Canada, is returning to Sony Corporation in Tokyo, Japan.
Bringing almost 20 years of Sony experience to the role, mostly with Sony of Canada, Mr. Wilson previously served as president, Sony Logistics America since mid-2002. He was appointed vice president, Logistics, for Canada and the Eastern U.S. in early 2002. He joined Sony of Canada in November 1985 as branch operations manager, Consumer Group. He began his career in the financial services industry, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Economics from York University.
In addition to now holding the position of president and COO of the company, Mr. Wilson also serves as chairman of its Operating Committee, as a member of its Board of Directors, and as an officer. (MarketNews.com)
