Milwaukee, WI, U.S.-based U-Line Corporation’s undercounter refrigerator models have been awarded the ENERGY STAR(R) label.

Products that earn the ENERGY STAR meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The five ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator models include two 24-in-wide models (2075R and 75R), two 15-in-wide models (2015R and 15R) and one ADA-compliant model (29R). These models span both U-Line’s Échelon Series and Origins Series product lines.

"U-Line is proud to be an ENERGY STAR partner," Phil Uihlein, president and CEO of U-Line Corporation, says in a written statement. "Energy efficiency has always been a priority at U-Line and an important feature to our customers. We are pleased to offer the added benefit and assurance that ENERGY STAR represents."

U-Line’s commitment to designing energy efficient appliances is evident in its ability to easily comply with ENERGY STAR specifications. To qualify for an ENERGY STAR, undercounter refrigerators are required to operate at a minimum of 20 percent less than the DOE’s energy limit. Of the five U-Line models eligible for ENERGY STAR, three models met ENERGY STAR performance levels without any adjustments or changes to the products. Two other models each received minor modifications and successfully achieved ENERGY STAR levels. U-Line completed all product testing in 3 to 6 months.

Developed by the EPA and DOE, the ENERGY STAR program is a voluntary partnership designed to encourage energy-efficient practices by both manufacturers and consumers in order to protect the environment.
