Canon, New York Yankees Announce Sponsorship Expansion

U.S.-based digital imaging and business appliances company Canon and the New York Yankees, a U.S. baseball team, have announced a multi-year sponsorship contract expansion. At the team's home field, a new Canon sign that measures 32-ft long by 8-ft high is on the stadium's left field wall as part of the sponsorship agreement.

"As a sponsor of the Yankees organization for several years and seeing the tremendous success they have achieved, we are very excited about this sponsorship expansion," said Debra Epstein, vice president and general manager of Corporate Communications at Canon U.S.A., Inc. "With a high-powered lineup of all star players, the allure of the most famous and valuable sports franchise in the world, and 26 World Series titles to their credit, the Yankees image makes for a perfect synergy with our own brand leadership."

In addition to the new sign, Canon is continuing to sponsor signage behind home plate during the top of the sixth inning. Concourse dioramas featuring Canon print advertising are also displayed on the Field level of the Stadium. Canon television commercials will also be featured as part of pre-game broadcasts on the DiamondVision screen.

As a component of Canon4Kids, the company's effort to help find America's missing children in collaboration with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the Yankees "Tag-A-Kid Program" is also included in the sponsorship. Through this initiative, wristbands are offered at customer service booth locations throughout the Stadium to assist security personnel in identifying seating locations of lost children and reuniting them with their parents. Promotion of the program will be featured in the centerfield matrix and DiamondVision boards, as well as on the new light-emitting diode (LED) side scoreboards.

"With the growth of digital technology, this is a very exciting time for Canon to be affiliated with a just as exciting and winning team as the Yankees," Ms. Epstein continued. "We hope to see many Yankee home runs hit right over our sign throughout the season."
