Seven LG Appliances Win Consumer Prizes in Belarus Apr 13, 2004

LG Electronics Inc. said that seven of its home appliance products have been honored with consumer prizes in Belarus, a former Soviet republic east of Poland.

LG's DVD player, monitor, air-conditioner, stereo, VCR, microwave oven, and vacuum cleaner were named the best products of the year in Belarus, company officials said, citing organizers of the country's "2004 Belarus Choice of the Year" event.

LG said it beat Sony, Panasonic, and other top global brands to win the prestigious prizes. The award ceremony was held in the Belarus capital of Minsk.

The prize winners were selected through polls of European marketing research firms and citizens in Minsk and five other Belarus cities, LG said. (Yonhap)
