Medical appliance maker Bovie Medical Corporation (Melville, NY, U.S.) has announced that it expects to report in May that its first quarter for 2004 is the highest revenue quarter in the company's history. Bovie's previous highest quarter was U.S. $4.36 million recorded in the second quarter of fiscal 2003.

"Fiscal 2004's first quarter revenues reached an historic level reflecting the strong contribution made by our electrosurgical segment," Andrew Makrides, Bovie's president commented in a statement from the company. "We continue to anticipate near and long-term growth opportunities in this area."
