Intel Introduces Four Mobile Processors

Intel Corporation (Santa Clara, CA, U.S.) has introduced four processors for mobile PCs. The enhanced capabilities of these processors will reportedly enable end users to enjoy increased mobile performance and extended battery life in thin-and-light notebooks.

Intel's new offerings are the Low Voltage Intel(R) Pentium(R M processor at 1.30 GHz, the Ultra Low-Voltage Intel Pentium M processor at 1.10 GHz, the Intel Celeron(R) M processor at 1.40 GHz and the Ultra Low-Voltage Intel Celeron M processor at 900 MHz. All four processors are based on Intel's micro-architecture designed specifically for mobile computing and built using the company's 0.13-micron manufacturing technology.

The Intel Pentium M processor, in conjunction with the Intel 855 chipset family and the Intel PRO/Wireless network connection family, is a key component of Intel Centrino(TM) mobile technology. The Intel Pentium M processor line features architectural enhancements such as a power-optimized 400-MHz system bus, Micro-Ops Fusion. and Dedicated Stack Manager for faster execution of instructions at lower power.

The Intel Celeron M processor line is a new generation of Intel technology for the mobility market segment, and is said to offer its users a balanced level of mobile-optimized processor technology .

The processors are compatible with the Intel 855 chipset family as well as the Intel 852-GM chipset .
