The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers Floor Care Division has announced the final 2003 U.S. shipment numbers for the floor care industry and will begin reporting aggregated floor care shipment numbers monthly. The aggregated floor care category that will be publicly released includes Canister, Stick, and Upright vacuum cleaners. All data will be released through AHAM.
The combined Floor Care Category reached 23,685,015 units for the year 2003. This includes all units imported or domestically produced and represents 100 percent of units shipped for sale within the United States. Subsequent releases of the combined U.S. Floor Care category will occur monthly with an approximate 30 to 35 day delay from the time data is provided to members, 10 working days after the close of the month. For example, detailed February data would be published to members on March 12 and will be released by AHAM to the public on April 15.
Program participants, through AHAM, also receive U.S. and Canadian shipments and dollar values of upright, canister, stick, and hand-held vacuum cleaners, portable and full size extractors and central vacuum Systems as well as several characteristics and accessories reports in each product category. In addition AHAM tracks shipment data for the U.S. major and portable home appliance industry.
