Fedders Sets Aggressive Pricing On Central AC Mar 25, 2004

Fedders HVACR, a division of Fedders Corporation of Liberty Corner, NJ, U.S, announced a significant price cut of up to 25 percent on its 12-SEER central air-conditioning products. The products include all cooling only and heat pump condensing units from 1.5 to 5 tons. According to the company, the aggressive pricing is possible because of lower manufacturing costs in China.

"Fedders is the largest exporter of air-conditioning products from China through our seven manufacturing plants. Our world-class organization provides tremendous efficiencies, and we bring that value directly to our customers," said Daryl Erbs, president of Fedders HVACR. "This is a great product at a great price and demonstrates just how aggressively we are pursuing the central air conditioning business."

Fedders introduced its line of 12-SEER central air-conditioning products late last year and showcased them at the AHR trade fair and International Builders' Show in January 2004. According to the company, the appliances' heating and cooling systems boast quiet top-air discharge, state-of-the-art reciprocating and scroll compressors, and a control box located for easy access. The 12 SEER split-cool condensing unit is available with a performance range of 18,500-55,000 BTU/hr, and the heat pump condensing units have a range of 17,600-54,000 BTU/hr.

Fedders offers a 10-year warranty on the compressor and both the condensing units, and the air handlers have 5-year warranties.
