The Eureka Company as it is currently known is no more.
The company, as of March 21, 2004, becomes Electrolux Home Care Products North America -- though the brand name "Eureka" will continue to be used on the company's line of vacuum cleaners.
The company also will maintain the brand names Electrolux, Sanitaire, and Beam.
The Electrolux Home Care Products North America will include the Eureka brand, which focuses on cleaning merchandise; the Electrolux brand that includes floor care products with features such as reduced sound and robotic capabilities; the Sanitair line of commercial vacuums and floor polishers; and Beam, which includes built-in cleaning appliances.
Spokeswoman Kathy Luedke said she expects no operational changes to accompany the name change. Current plans are to have the corporate headquarters remain in Bloomington. The company has 200 employees working in Bloomington, IL, U.S. (Bloomington [Illinois, U.S.] Pantagraph)
