Middle East Company to Carry First Siemens Home Appliances in Region Mar 11, 2004

Khimji Ramdas, a Muscat, Oman-based business and appliance warehouse with diversified product lines in the Sultanate, has said it will now carry Siemens home appliances.

Siemens home appliances will only be available at various Khimji showrooms, according to the company..

Managing director of BSH Middle East, Bernd Hoffmann, told Oman's Times Business that Siemens home appliances products could withstand the climate in the Middle East—which is a concern—because German experts have conducted studies on the region to make the products more durable.

Asked about Siemens’ target in the market, he said: "It is difficult to know how many units will be sold in the early stage. However, we will have a clear idea in 2005."

These products are present in every major market generating more than 70 percent of its sales outside Germany. BSH’s productivity programmes are bolstering their international competitiveness while rigorous innovation management and creative marketing of new products is driving expansion. (The Times of Oman)
