Invention Machine Corporation, a Boston, MA, U.S.-based provider of innovation software, announced an agreement with appliance maker Whirlpool Corporation. Under the agreement, Whirlpool will be deploying Invention Machine's Goldfire Innovator(TM) software to its engineers and R&D staff to support IP analysis and technology planning, as well the improvement and extension of existing products and product features.
Goldfire Innovator is said to help companies in new idea generation and new product development, the renovation of existing products, and the improvement of production processes. The software reportedly delivers functions and content that aid the innovation process, including the following:
problem-analysis tools and methodologies that guide users to solutions;
semantic knowledge retrieval, providing fast, pinpoint access to relevant content; and
proprietary patent information and access to more than 9,000 scientific effects and more than 2,000 scientific web sites, unprecedented for their depth and relevance to innovation research.
According to Invention Machine, users of Goldfire Innovator benefit from greater conversion rates of ideas to products, better competitive products, streamlined manufacturing processes, and faster time-to-market.
