Sony Corp. and Toshiba Corp. said they will jointly develop advanced 45-nanometer process and design technologies for next-generation system large-scale integrated circuits.
The two electronics giants expect to see positive results in 2005, building on their successful joint development of a 65-nanometer design process that will soon be applied to sample products, they said.
Sony and Toshiba hope the 20-billion-yen (approx. U.S. $189.8-million) project will allow them to be the first to market with 45-nanometer knowhow, they said. (The Japan Times)
