For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) have selected Lennox Industries Inc., a subsidiary of Lennox International Inc., as an ENERGY STAR(R) Manufacturer of the Year, the company announced.

Lennox was honored for its contribution to developing, manufacturing, and promoting energy- efficient products and says it is the only heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning manufacturer ever to be chosen for the annual EPA award.

"Partners like Lennox exemplify the success of ENERGY STAR," said Kathleen Hogan, director of EPA's Climate Protection Partnerships Division. "By offering the latest and greatest products that are also energy efficient, the consumer wins and so does the environment. Lennox' products show you really can have it all -- features and energy savings."

In 2003, Lennox said it had a record number of energy-efficient product introductions, with nearly 90 percent of the new products in the Dave Lennox Signature(TM) Collection ENERGY STAR-qualified -- including eight new furnaces, air-conditioners, and heat pumps.

Lennox said it also continued to build alliances with utility companies across the U.S., as well as spread the energy efficiency message through national consumer education campaigns.

"Through our product development, targeted promotions, dealer support, and educational marketing of our residential and commercial product lines, Lennox continuously reinforced the important message of energy efficiency through the ENERGY STAR program in 2003," said Bob Schjerven, CEO of Lennox International Inc. "We're proud of our achievements in this important area, and we fully intend to continue our leadership position."
