Bose Corp. India to Continue Importing Products From U.S. Feb 9, 2004

Audio technology manufacturer Bose Corp. India said the company would continue to import its products from the U.S., as it presently had no plans to start a manufacturing base in the country.

The Indian arm of U.S. $1.6-billion Bose Corp. has been showing about 60-percent annual growth since starting its operation in 1995, but had no immediate plan to start manufacturing its products in the country, Ratish Pandey, general manager of Bose Corp India, told reporters at the launch of an entry-level home entertainment system.

He said the company would continue to import its products from the U.S. to cater to the Indian market, where professional and retail segments were its focus areas.

"There is a growing segment of customers looking for a simple, affordable but yet high-performance home theatre systems like the 3-2-1 GS we are introducing today," he said. (PTI)
