Mississippi builder Bobby Rayburn has been elected as the 2004 president of the 220,000-member National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), based in Washington, D.C., U.S. during the association's 60th annual International Builders' Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, NV, US.

"We expect another very solid year for the housing market," Mr. Rayburn told the NAHB Board of Directors in his acceptance speech. "Interest rates remain low, housing demand is high, and builders are generally bullish about the future."

Also active in community service, Mr. Rayburn has served on the board of his local Chamber of Commerce and as president of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. He is co-founder of the Home Builders Association of Mississippi's Student Chapter at the University of Southern Mississippi and has served on the Mississippi Home Corporation's Advisory Committee for several years.

Other 2004 officers that have been elected include the following: David Wilson, from Ketchum, ID, U.S. as First Vice President; David Pressly from Statesville, NC, U.S. as Vice President/Treasurer; and Brian Catalde from Playa del Rey, CA, U.S. as Vice President/Secretary.

2003 NAHB President Kent Conine, from Dallas, TX, U.S. remains on the leadership ladder this year as Immediate Past President. Rounding out the association's leadership is NAHB Executive Vice President and CEO Jerry Howard, from Washington, D.C., U.S.
