Appliance retailer Sears, Roebuck and Co. introduced the first line of Kenmore Elite freestanding counter-depth refrigerators. Designed to fit in small spaces, the refrigerators are available in 21-cu ft models and have a height of 69 in.
According to the company, the Kenmore Space Saver provides up to 20 percent more freezer space while featuring an in-the-door ice system and slide-out freezer baskets. Crushed or cubed ice and water is available through-the-door and a water filtration system, accessible from the front grill of the unit, features a filter indicator. A child lockout feature allows adults to access the water and ice dispenser.
The Kenmore Elite counter-depth refrigerators also feature Grocery Savor(TM) and Fast Freeze Systems with a temperature controlled meat pan, humidity crisper, and snack drawer. The models are available in smooth white (regular price $1,999), smooth black (regular price $2,029), or coated stainless steel (regular price $2,199). The coated stainless steel is said to resist fingerprints and hold magnets.
