Samsung Group announced that it has reshuffles many of its top-level executives for Samsung Electronics Co. and other core units, promoting seven executives to vice chairperson and CEO posts.
The annual reshuffle affected 15 CEO-level officials, with the group's chief planning officer, Lee Hak-soo, being promoted to the rank of vice chairman.
Lee Yun-woo, Samsung Electronics' president in charge of semiconductor operations, acquired the post of vice chairman in the same company.
Five senior executive vice presidents, including Kwon Oh-hyun of Samsung Electronics and Lee Chang-ryul of Samsung Heavy Industries, were promoted to CEO posts.
Meanwhile, Yun Jong-yong, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, was given expanded control over the company's home appliance business. Hwang Chang-gyu, Samsung Electronics' president in charge of its memory chip business, had his supervisory role expanded to the company's entire semiconductor business.
Je Jin-hoon, president and CEO of Samsung Capital, was appointed as chief of Cheil Industries, while Ahn Bok-hyun, president and CEO of Cheil Industries, moved to Samsung BP Chemicals Co. (Yonhap)
