Goodman Manufacturing Company, L.P, a producer of HVAC products, announced a 2- to 5-percent price reduction on its Goodman(R) brand 12 SEER split system air-conditioner and heat pump units.
"The reduction is significant, as it follows a similar price reduction that Goodman enacted in June 2003 on the same product line," said Gary Clark, Goodman vice president of Marketing.
According to Mr. Clark, the cost reductions are a part of the Goodman philosophy's to bring the highest quality and the most competitive prices to the market.
Goodman's 12 SEER product line offers units from 1.5 to 5 tons and is constructed using high-efficiency compressors, durable copper tubing and aluminum fin coils, R-22 refrigerant, and heavy-gauge G-90 galvanized steel.
According to Goodman, it is "bucking" the industry trend, as other leading air-conditioner manufacturers have recently announced price increases ranging from 2 to 4 percent on their products.
