LG Electronics Inc. reported that it sold 1.87 trillion won (U.S. $1.57 billion) worth of products in November, up 29.5 percent from a year earlier.
Even so, sales of home electronic appliances fell 15.3 percent month-on-month to 412.7 billion won due to a prolonged slump in domestic demand and seasonal factors.
The firm's display and media sector increased sales in November by 19.7 percent year-on-year and 1.3 percent month-on-month to 662 billion won due to a boom in exports of digital televisions such as plasma display panel, liquid crystal display, and projection models.
Led by a record monthly sale of mobile phones of 3.23 million units, the company's information and technology (IT) section also expanded sales in November by 64.0 percent from a year ago and 5.7 percent from a month ago to 800 billion won.
In the first 11 months of this year, LG Electronics had 18.54 trillion won in sales, up 17.8 percent from the same period last year. (Yonhap)
