Sharp Indonesia dominated the "Liquid Crystal Display" (LCD) TV market of in the country with a reported market share of more than 50 percent so far in 2003.
The LCD TV market in Indonesia is relatively small, but it grew steadily with good prospects, Sharp Indonesia President Kenji Okunaka said.
Mr. Okunaka said that Sharp in Japan will stop producing CRT CTV TVs to concentrate on LCD production in 2005. He also said he was confident that Sharp will continue to lead in the LCD TV market in the world and in Indonesia.
So far in 2003, Sharp sold 1,500 LCD TV units in Indonesia, up from 500 units in 2002. In 2004, sales are predicted to increase to 2,500 units. (ANTARA)
