InFocus(R) Corporation, a digital projection technology and services company, announced that it has been awarded a contract to supply more than 16,000 dual branded (Compact 285/LP530) projectors to 250,000 classrooms in Malaysia.
The effort with Geha-Werke (M) Sdn Bhd, a multimedia equipment supplier, is a component of Malaysia's Ministry of Education (MoE) initiative to promote language fluency in math and science disciplines.
InFocus and Geha-Werke, worked in collaboration to visit schools, develop white papers, and modify the product, and develop training and support to ensure its offerings were optimal solutions for the teachers and students. In its dual brand partnership, InFocus provided a highly customized projector and Geha worked with local systems integrators in creating and deploying the multi-media teaching solution to each school.
The MoE initiative is a 5-year plan leveraging multi-media courseware to teach English, math, and science in Malaysian primary and secondary schools. The goal is to equip each of the estimated 250,000 classrooms with a projector, laptop PC, and multi-media courseware.
