Siemens home appliances have entered the U.S. market through a strategic alliance with Best Buy Stores of Minneapolis, MN, U.S. The initial Siemens product offering, available in Best Buy stores nationwide, consist of a lineup of dishwashers and selected small appliances.

"The Siemens - Best Buy relationship is the first step to establishing the Siemens home appliance brand in the United States," said Michael Bohn, director of Brand Marketing for Siemens. "Best Buy, with its focus on technology and innovative products, is the perfect venue to introduce Siemens home appliances to North America. Both Best Buy and Siemens are innovators and target modern, open-minded individuals with a sense of style and an affinity for new technologies."

The initial product offering includes dishwashers -- manufactured in the company's new facility in North Carolina, U.S. -- as well as a select range of small appliances. The products are available in 550 U.S. Best Buy stores.

Featured in the initial product offering are Siemens brand dishwashers, which use a patented hydroSensor(TM). The technology is said to automatically check soil type and level with an optical sensor, enabling the dishwasher to decide if and how much fresh water is needed and reportedly saving up to 2.4 gal of water per wash.

The dishwashers also feature soundCheck(TM) technology, which reportedly allows for extremely quiet operation through special insulating materials and noise-reduced drive units, as well as hydroDry(TM) technology, which is said to dry dishes more hygienically.

Small Appliances
Also offered as part of the launch are the following small appliances:

  • The MB 10000 UC blender, which uses powerCrush(TM), a strong, extra long, thick stainless steel blade, combined with one of the most powerful residential blender motors available, according to Siemens.
  • The MK 51000 UC food processor, which features the versaTech(TM) system, combining a food processor, mixer, blender, slicer, grater, juicer, and whisk in one single machine.
  • The TD 24450 UC iron, which uses the optiSteam(TM) system to create 97 jets of steam that reportedly smoothes even the most resistant fabrics.

Siemens is part of BSH Home Appliances Corporation, headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA, U.S. and a wholly owned subsidiary of BSH GmbH (a joint-venture between Robert Bosch GmbH and Siemens AG), headquartered in Munich, Germany.
