Compex Technologies, a Minneapolis, MN, U.S.-based company that manufactures, designs, and markets electromedical products and appliances used for fitness and sports training, announced that its SLENDERTONE(R) GYMBODY(TM) abdominal toner exceeded its sales expectations on QVC, during a 9-min segment held Dec. 1.

The SLENDERTONE GYMBODY abdominal belt, launched in November in the U.S., uses technology that has been cleared for sale by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

SLENDERTONE abdominal belts are based upon Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology. They are distributed by Compex Technologies under license from Bio-Medical Research, Inc. (BMR) of Ireland and use BMR's Concentrated Slendertone Innervation(R) technology, which includes the placement of three medical-grade gel pads over the abdominal muscles and external obliques. Signals from the electrodes target the nerves, which branch out and stimulate all of the abdominal muscles, causing them to contract and relax naturally.
