Cobra Electronics (Chicago, IL, U.S.), a global manufacturer of mobile communication and navigation products, has announced that will preview its new line of radar detectors at the 2004 Consumer Electronic Show (CES), which is slated for Jan. 8-11 in Las Vegas, NV, U.S.

Characterized by a new contemporary design and performance improvements, the company said the line will include radar detectors able to identify Ka Band "Pop Mode," said to be one of the latest advances in detection.

"This line represents an evolution of the look and features that has made Cobra Electronics radar detectors the most popular on the market today," said Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president of Marketing and Sales for Cobra Electronics. "We've built our reputation by delivering industry firsts and exclusive features, and packaging them into a high tech design that complements today's vehicle interiors."

The company says the "sweeping redesign" fuses the modern styling of brushed aluminum with metallic mesh grilling. The new models will also include features such as Strobe Alert, IntelliMute, SmartPower, and extended detection range.

The 2004 radar detector line will be available nationwide at major electronics retailers, beginning in the second quarter of 2004.

Cobra's complete 2004 GPS, GMRS, radar detector, and marine product lines will be unveiled at the 2004 CES.
