U-Line Refrigerators Earn Energy Star Label Nov 25, 2003

Milwaukee, WI, U.S.-based U-Line Corporation announced that its undercounter refrigerator models have been awarded the Energy Star label, meeting the strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The five qualified refrigerator models include two 24-in wide models (2075R and 75R), two 15-in wide models (2015R and 15R), and one ADA-compliant model (29R). These models span U-Line's Echelon Series and Origins Series product lines.

"U-Line is proud to be an Energy Star partner," Phil Uihlein, president and CEO of U-Line, said in a statement. "Energy efficiency has always been a priority of U-Line and an important feature to our customers. We are pleased to offer the added benefit and assurance that Energy Star represents."

To qualify for an Energy Star, undercounter refrigerators are required to operate at a minimum of 20-percent less than the DOE's energy limit. Of the five models eligible for the Energy Star label, three models met the required performance levels without any adjustments to the product design, U-Line said. Two other models each received minor modifications. U-Line said it completed all product testing in 3 to 6 months.
