ATI, Samsung to Cooperate on Digital Television Products

ATI Technologies Inc. has signed an agreement with Samsung Electronics for strategic cooperation and joint development for Samsung's next generation of digital television platforms. This new digital TVs are to be powered by ATI's XILLEON™ and NXTWAVE™ chips, which reportedly provide outstanding digital and analog picture quality and exceptional reception capabilities.

ATI has developed a number of chips for the digital television market. Some of which include XILLEON, a high-definition MPEG decoder system-on-chip; NXT2003™, a single-chip ATSC/OpenCable digital demodulator; and the THEATER™ 310, ATI's latest receiver.
