Toshiba Consumer Product Indonesia (TCPI) said it has projected that it will produce 2 million television sets next year, up from this year's target of 1.6 million.
In response, the company will increase its investment by U.S. $5.3 million, Tubagus Faisal, TCPI planning manager, said.
Mr. Tubagus said 85 percent of the company’s TV set production will be exported to Japan, North America, Middle East, Africa, and other Asian countries.
He also said 35-percent of the components used in its TVs are from local suppliers, with the remaining 65 percent supplied through imports.
The country's exports of electronic products were valued at $7.32 billion last year, up from $7.03 billion in 2001. (ANTARA, Asia Pulse)
